yes:: machinemachine apparel can now be found lurking on the racks of Split Obsession in Hawaii Kai’s Koko Marina……………thrilled at this, because this shop is packed with impossibly adorable goodies…….clothing for men and women and toys and art galore……the concept: “By exposing their customers to different artists, designers, trends, or products, it is Split Obsession’s hope that shopping will no longer be a boring day of flipping through racks and looking at the same old stuff.”
i love music, but strangely, i rarely listen to songs while i work…..instead i prefer to listen to talk radio shows via podcasts….i’m obsessed with these podcasts because they’re interesting and educational, but also because (and this might sound kind of tragic, but its not nearly as desperate as it sounds) sewing is incredibly solitary, making me crave the sound of voices around me and these programs help me feel connected to events and thoughts going on in the outside world. this recent episode from To The Best Of Our Knowledge was particularly pertinent to listen to while sewing. please lend it your ears!
those stacks of colorful fabrics surely did indeed become dresses…..here are some peeks…….these are all going to a really cute shop called Split Obsession at Koko Marina on O’ahu…….fun stuff in there for all sorts!
here’re some of my most recent favorite fabric finds….all polyesters, but in different textures and weights. when i get my hands on fabric like this, one half of me is petrified to use them and the other half is super excited to turn them into 3D wearable goodies.
Whew!! i finally finished a load of garments for Shasa Emporium at Kahala Mall in east Honolulu…..i am much enthused about this sweet boutique that is packed with extra cute clothing and accessories—-i especially appreciate how they stock limited numbers of their labels and the selections that easily transition from day to night.
